This past Saturday marked a momentous occasion at Wehinahpay Mountain Camp: the dedication of the Bill & Karen Armstrong Trades and Technology Center.
This incredible new facility represents a significant advancement in the camp's commitment to providing Scouts with top-tier hands-on learning experiences in trades and technology, setting the stage for future generations to gain valuable skills.
The event was well-attended, with a strong showing of support from key members of our Scouting community. Among the distinguished guests captured in photos were several past council presidents, including Bill Armstrong himself. These leaders have each played a critical role in guiding our council through the years, contributing to the camp’s continued growth and success.
Also present were past and current camp ranger, Brian Chambers, who have dedicated themselves to maintaining the pristine beauty and operational excellence of Wehinahpay Mountain Camp. Bill's presence alongside these dedicated stewards underscored the long-standing efforts put into making the camp a special place where skills, leadership, and camaraderie are fostered.
The event brought together the past and present leadership of our council. Among them were former Scout Executive Frank Reigelman and our current Scout Executive Karl Shelton, both standing proudly with Bill Armstrong. The gathering was a touching reminder of the commitment and vision shared across generations, ensuring that our Scouts have access to high-quality facilities and programming.
The Bill & Karen Armstrong Trades and Technology Center will undoubtedly inspire countless young people to explore and develop their skills in trades and technology, equipping them with knowledge that will serve them well in Scouting and beyond. We are grateful for the generosity and passion of Bill and Karen Armstrong and everyone who made this center a reality.
This dedication represents more than just the opening of a new facility; it symbolizes our council’s investment in the future of our youth and the power of community-driven support. As we look forward to seeing the impact this center will have, we express our deepest appreciation to everyone involved in this historic milestone.
