Mission
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Our History
Wehinahpay Mountain Camp, established in 1927, is steeped in history and cultural significance. Named by the local Mescalero Apache, Wehinahpay means "the place where the morning sun gathers." This historic site invites you to walk in the footsteps of indigenous people, mountain men, buffalo soldiers, Dragoons, cowboys, and outlaws. For those interested in delving deeper into the camp's rich past, "The Saga of Potato Canyon" by Minor S. Huffman provides a detailed account of the area’s storied history.
