
Role Objective
Direct the overall operations of the dining facility and work
with the Camp Chef to facilitate a quality dining service.
Reports to
Business Manager
Requirements
Must have a current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification.
Must be able to speak, hear, write, and read communications clearly.
Must be able to count and inventory for ordering.
Must be able to lift weights up to 40lbs.
Must be in good standing with the Boy Scouts of America, Conquistador Council, and Wehinahpay Mountain Camp.
Preferences
Prior dining management experience.
Description
The Dining Hall Steward works closely with the Camp Chef and Business Manager to provide a quality dining service and maintain the dining area. Specific responsibilities include:
Direct the set-up and take-down of a quality Dining Hall.
Supervise the personnel assigned to the dining hall and their operations.
Work with the Camp Chef in preparing three meals per day, as indicated by the camp program schedule for camp staff and guests. Meals will be served on time.
Maintenance, inventory, security, safety, and wise use of all Dining Hall and kitchen equipment.
Maintain a clean and healthy work and dining environment.
Maintain a strict discipline at all times when campers, leaders, and other staff are in the area.
Provide leadership in the preparation and serving of any other camp-wide meals.
Provide leadership in the preparation and serving of meals for the Cub Scout camping program, to include staff and guests.
Provide leadership to the preparation and serving of a final staff banquet.
Other duties as assigned.
