
Role Objective
To maintain all physical property and mechanical equipment
of Wehinahpay Mountain Camp in acceptable operating
condition.
Reports to
Camp Ranger
Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 40lbs., must be sighted, and
sufficiently mobile to walk over rough wooded terrain, must be
of sufficient physical condition to perform difficult repetitive
tasks under adverse weather conditions.
Must be in good standing with the Boy Scouts of America,
Conquistador Council, and Wehinahpay Mountain Camp.
Preferences
Has prior experience with facility maintenance.
Description
The Summer Camp Assistant Ranger works closely with the Camp Ranger in meeting the
maintenance needs of the camp. Specific responsibilities include:
Being particularly alert to conditions which affect health, safety, and the sanitation
of camp, and to follow and encourage the use of good housekeeping practices.
Working with the Camp Ranger to establish work schedules using the camp
maintenance plan job cards and order supplies, keeping within the maintenance
budget.
Being knowledgeable in, and ready to implement all camp emergency procedures.
Working with the Camp Ranger and the camp admin team to assist in facilitating
the check-in and check-out processes so they are as efficient as possible.
Regularly maintaining fluid levels and operating conditions of camp vehicles.
Establish and nurture good working relationships with all staff, campers, leaders,
and visitors to camp. Acting in a "Scoutlike" manner.
Assist in the set-up and take-down of all camp facilities.
All other duties as assigned.
